Important Update Regarding the Completion of Non-NHS (Private) Work
From 16th September 2025 Highbridge Medical Centre will temporarily be pausing the completion of non-urgent private work which cannot be undertaken by Medi2Data on our behalf.
This decision has been made to ensure that we are able to focus on the demand around core NHS services as our priority is to provide safe, timely and high-quality care to patients.
From the above date:
- Urgent private work will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and if accepted by the surgery, an indicative timeframe for completion will be provided;
- We will continue to send private work to Medi2Data and a list of the work Medi2Data are able to undertake may be found below;
- Any existing private requests, appointments or treatment plans will be honoured in the order in which they were received, unless we contact you directly to discuss an alternative;
- We will resume non-urgent private services as soon as is practical and will communicate this via our website and via notifications within the surgery.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We understand that this may cause inconvenience, for which we sincerely apologise.
Subject Access Requests
Due to the capacity of the practice team, the surgery requests to use a third-party processor called Medi2Data to help process Subject Access Requests efficiently. Medi2Data is approved to work with NHS practices and follows strict rules to keep your information safe. They use secure systems and meet national standards for data protection, so your personal details are handled with care and confidentiality. You can find out more about Medi2Data here: https://www.medi2data.com/
You can print a subject access request form here and either drop it into the surgery or you can email somicb.highbridgemc-generalenquiries@nhs.net.
Before we can pass your request to Medi2Data, we will ask for your consent — this can be given verbally or in writing.
Please see our data privacy notice for further information.
Private (Non-NHS) Services
Some services like private forms, insurance reports, or access to your records aren’t covered by the NHS and will include a charge.
You can print a To Whom It May Conern requset form here and either drop it into the surgery or you can email somicb.highbridgemc-generalenquiries@nhs.net.
Symphony uses a third-party service called Medi2Data to help with these requests. Medi2Data is approved to work with NHS practices and follows strict rules to keep your information safe. They use secure systems and meet national standards for data protection, so your personal details are handled with care and confidentiality.
Before we can pass your request to Medi2Data, we will ask for your consent — this can be given verbally or in writing.
If you don’t want Medi2Data to handle your request, it is at the discretion of the surgery as to whether the private work can be completed. The practice team will also discuss with you about whether they are able to complete any forms not provided by Medi2Data.
Please always send your private work request to the surgery first.
See our data privacy notice for further information.
Care Following a Private Procedure
If you’ve received treatment or had a consultation privately, please be aware that all related tests, prescriptions, and follow-up care must also be arranged privately.
Your private consultant is responsible for:
- Issuing the first prescription for any new medication
- Providing any necessary follow-up care
- Supplying fit notes if you are unfit for work
If your private care is complete but you need ongoing treatment, your consultant may write to your NHS GP to request continued care. However, only services normally provided by the NHS can be transferred — anything outside of this must continue privately.
You can be referred to return to NHS care after private treatment, as long as the service is routinely available on the NHS.
Any questions about your private care should be directed to the private care provider. For all other health matters, please contact the surgery with any questions.
